Chocolate Chili
Great, easy meal to warm you up on a cold day, or to serve on the season finale of the annual oblong ball sport! Leftovers go really well on top of noodles for chili mac.
1 h 30 m 6Ingredients
- 1/2 lb ground beef
- 1 tbsp oil
- 1-2 garlic cloves
- 14 oz black beans
- 24 oz stewed tomatoes
- 14.5 oz tomato sauce
- 6 oz tomato paste
- 1 small white onion (sliced chunky, not diced)
- 1 green bell pepper (sliced chunky, not diced)
- 1/2 tsp cocoa powder
- 1/2 tsp honey (I used a spicy honey, but any will do!)
- 1/2 tsp chili powder
- red pepper to taste
- salt
- pepper
- 4 tsp chocolate truffle tea
Directions
1) Pour the oil in the base of a large heavy, lidded pot, like a dutch oven.
2) With the stove on medium-high, brown the meat. When meat is about 2/3 of the way done, add the garlic cloves.
3) Drain and rinse the beans.
4) All all ingredients to the pot and combine well.
5) Allow ingredients to come to a simmer, and turn to medium-low.
6) Cover and let cook for at least one hour, stirring occasionally.
