Bonfire Apple Hand Pies
Puff pastry hand pies with a sweet and smokey filling. They're pretty easy to make too, and a sprinkling of sugar on top brings it all together.
20 m 6Ingredients
- 2 apples, cored, peeled, and chopped
- 1 sheet of puff pastry, thawed
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp Bonfire tea, apple bits removed and the rest ground
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- 2 tbsp butter
- Spoonful of jam (I reccomend a mixed berry)
- Pinch salt
- Bit of milk for brushing
- Bit of sugar for sprinkling
Directions
While the pastry is thawing, melt the butter in a pot. Add everything else to it, and boil it all together for about 8 minutes, or until thickened and most of the liquid is gone. Let it cool a bit. Cut the pastry into 6 pieces. Fill, then fold the pastry and crimp the edges. Brush it with milk, sprinkle with sugar, and bake at 400 for 25 minutes.
