Cherry Marzipan Oolong Soda

Learn how to make homemade cherry cream soda with fresh cherries. Perfect to drink as it or pour over ice cream for ice cream floats.

Ingredients

  • 2 tsp (6 grams) Adaigo Cherry Marzipan loose leaf tea
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla bean paste (or 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract)
  • 1 cup fresh cherry juice *instructions for making is in the directions
  • 1 cup seltzer or sparkling water

Directions

In a large saucepan, whisk together the water and sugar. Bring to a boil over medium heat, whisking often.

Boil for another 1-2 minutes or until the sugar has fully dissolved.

Remove from the heat and add tea leaves. Steep for 3-5 minutes; strain. Whisk in vanilla paste or extract, and cherry juice to strained tea mixture. Cool to room temperature then refrigerate until cold.

Right before serving, add the seltzer. Serve immediately.

*To make 1 cup fresh cherry juice: Add 1 cup pitted cherries (fresh or frozen) and 1/2 cup water to a blender. Blend until smooth. Pour through a fine mesh strainer into a large bowl, discarding any solids left behind.
