Peachy Fritters

Nothing says 'Summer' quite like big fat juicy peaches.You get a double whammy of peach with these quick easy and delicious fritters.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 2 TBLs sugar
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • pinch nutmeg
  • pinch cloves
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 2 Tablespoons peach tea
  • 1 tablespoon applesauce
  • 1-1/4 cups diced peaches

Directions

Heat the milk with the tea and let steep for a minimum of 10 minutes:strain.

Whisk all the dry ingredients together,beat in the eggs,and milk;fold in the chopped peaches.

Heat 2in of oil in a large pot and bring to 375.

Use either a 1/4 cup or 1/2 cup scoop and carefully drop a few fritters into the oil;fry 3-4 minutes or until they are golden brown and light when picked up.

Remove and place on paper towels,dust with powdered sugar,glaze or toss in cinnamon and sugar.
