Rooibos vanilla chai buttercream frosting

I used rooibas vanilla chai tea and vanilla extract to flavor buttercream frosting.

Ingredients

  • 1 stick unsalted butter plus 3 tablespoons, softened
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons rooibos vanilla chai tea
  • 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • You will also need:, a small pan, 1 medium bowl, a liquid measuring cup, a dry measuring cup, a tea cup, teaspoon and tablespoon, 1 cup of boiling water and 1 tea filter

Directions

Place the unsalted butter out so that it can soften. Use a small pan to boil 1 cup of water. In the meantime, measure out 1 tablespoon of rooibos vanilla chai and place in a tea filter. Add to a tea cup and pour the boiling water over it. Allow to sit for ten minutes.

In the meantime, in a medium bowl, add 2 cups of powdered sugar and softened butter. Using a spoon, cream the sugar in the bowl. Add 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract and 2 tablespoons of tea. Mix and place in freezer to get to desired thickness. Depending on frosting thickness, you can expect to frost about 10 cupcakes.
